Mark Zuckerberg shows off his ‘modest’ office desk at the new Facebook headquarters [video]
In a first of sorts, Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg showed off the company’s headquarters in a live video. Zuckerberg gives us a sneak peak at what his desk at Facebook HQ at Menlo Park in California looks like, along with his conference room where he has all the important meetings.
Zuckerberg begins the live feed by talking about the Town Hall Q&A that is set for tomorrow, and then he goes on to show off the large unending office space. The employees moved into the new Facebook headquarters just a few months ago, and the office space is filled with open desks that are scattered across the floor without any walls separating them. The office has a tall ceiling, and Zuckerberg stresses that the open space is created to bring more transparency into the work culture at Facebook.
He even showed off his own desk, which didn’t look any different from his normal employees. It merged seamlessly with the office architecture with no overboard design elements to set it apart from the rest of the employees. His desk had his Apple MacBook along with racks of books, and few models of his upcoming projects including the satellite that the company has been working on. The books include the one that he is currently reading for his ‘Year Of Books’ challenge, and a one written by his laser communications team. His desk also included the new Facebook logo carved into wood gifted by the people who designed it, and strangely, a blue stuffed dinosaur.

Zuckerberg also showed the conference room where he spends most of the time meeting people. The conference room is also designed with glass for added transparency at work.
